About Rooted Family Health

We're Rebecca and Doyle Kruger,

the founders of Rooted Family Health

Rebecca and Doyle Kruger, Naples Florida

Everything we've built here comes from one simple belief: healthcare should be about connection. Inspired by our faith, we've devoted our lives to helping others, not just treating symptoms but truly knowing the people we care for.

We both started our careers at the bedside, spending hours connecting with patients in their most vulnerable moments. That's where we learned what matters most in medicine. Listening. Really listening. Understanding not just what hurts, but what's happening in your life that might be affecting your health. Becoming personally invested in your long-term wellbeing, not just getting you through today's appointment. This holistic approach to your mind, body, and soul has stayed with us through our advanced roles as nurse practitioners. We also both earned our graduate degrees at Creighton University, where we deepened our clinical training and commitment to whole-person care.

We both grew up in Iowa, where we spent most of our lives before choosing Naples for our clinic. We saw an overwhelming need here for affordable healthcare that felt out of reach for too many families. So we decided to do something about it. Together, we bring over 27 years of experience as nurse practitioners and more than 60 years in healthcare. But more than the years, we bring a commitment to knowing you, connecting with you, understanding you, and walking alongside you through every season of your health.

Rebecca Kruger

MSN, FNP, APRN

Rebecca knew her calling at a young age. As a child struggling with frequent illnesses, she was cared for by her aunt, a nurse practitioner who became her inspiration for pursuing the same path. Healthcare is woven through her entire family. Her mother and two sisters are nurses. Her brother designs life-saving vascular devices at Medtronic. All of them supported by her father, her rock and the family's Christian leader.

Rebecca brings a robust background in obstetrics, pediatrics, emergency medicine, and family practice. For the past 10 years as a nurse practitioner, she's independently managed care for 1,200 patients in a family practice clinic, caring for all of their healthcare needs throughout their lifespan. Her patients describe her as someone who "always goes the extra mile" and "always gets us in and listens to all my concerns."

What sets Rebecca apart is her willingness to advocate for her patients, even when it's uncomfortable. One patient wrote: "You advocated for my mental health when I was resistant and because of that, I am able to be a better wife and mother. The work you do is so important, I will forever be grateful to you." Another family shared: "Rebecca has advocated for both of my children, from my daughter's asthma to my son's ear and throat problems. She always goes above and beyond."

Her follow-through makes the difference. As one couple who's been with her for a decade explained: "Rebecca's follow-through and willingness to pursue health concerns has offered relief and enjoying life again. Rebecca has treated us with compassion and knows how to make you feel at ease."

Doyle Kruger

MS, FNP, APRN

Doyle wanted to save the world, so at 18 he joined the Army as an Airborne Ranger. After eight years and two combat deployments, Sergeant Kruger realized he could save lives in a different way. He became a nurse. Following 9/11, he gave three more years of service in the Army Nurse Corps.

For 18 years as a nurse practitioner, Doyle worked in critical care, emergency medicine, orthopedics, and cardiology. He saw what happens when people wait too long to get care. Now at Rooted Family Health, he's focused on keeping you healthy and out of the emergency room in the first place. His patients say "Doyle is always wonderful. Kind, caring and informative." Parents especially appreciate how he connects with kids. One mom wrote: "Doyle communicated directly to my son and made him feel calm. I have complete trust in Doyle with my family."

When they're not in the clinic, you'll find Rebecca and Doyle cycling around Naples or fishing in water that doesn't freeze four months of the year. They share their home with two dogs: Ranger, a golden retriever whose love is overwhelming, and Ella, a scrappy terrier mix who came from the pound and now runs the house.

“Can a Nurse be my Primary Care Provider?”

Absolutely. In Florida, nurse practitioners can get an Autonomous APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) license. This gives us full autonomy to evaluate, diagnose, order tests, interpret results, and manage treatments, including prescribing medications. We can handle everything your primary care provider should handle.

As nurse practitioners, we're trained to spend meaningful time with our patients. We listen thoroughly, communicate complex health information in ways that make sense, and stay with you until we find solutions.

We will listen, understand, and communicate in-depth knowledge in a compassionate yet straightforward way.

Rooted Family Health is inspired by Ephesians 3:17-19

“…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

It is what makes us:

Affordable

Healthcare shouldn't break your budget. Our transparent monthly fee covers unlimited care with no surprise bills, no copays, and no insurance paperwork. Just straightforward pricing that makes quality care accessible.

Accessible

Book an appointment within a few days, or text us when something comes up. You'll never hear "how about next month?" because we keep our patient panel small enough to actually be available when you need us.

Dependable

Trust is built over time. From your first wellness check to managing a chronic condition years later, we're here for everything in between. You get the same providers who know your history, your concerns, and what works for you.

Relational

We know our patients and our patients know us. We remember your daughter just started college, that your knee acts up when it rains, and which medication made you feel terrible last year. That's what happens when you have time to actually talk.

Thank you so much for the difference you have made in my life. You advocated for my mental health when I was resistant and because of that, I am able to be a better wife and mother. The work you do is so important, I will forever be grateful to you!
